Emotions without borders on Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore is one of the most fascinating lakes in Italy, located between Piedmont and Lombardy and covering about 212 square kilometers. Known for its crystal-clear waters, surrounding mountains, and mild climate that supports lush Mediterranean vegetation, it is a place of timeless charm.
The Borromean Islands, with their magnificent gardens and historic villas, are among the main attractions, along with picturesque towns like Stresa and Verbania.
Lake Maggiore is not just a place of natural beauty but also a hub for recreational and cultural activities, making it an ideal destination for incentive trips for employees and corporate events. Its mix of elegance, leisure, and breathtaking landscapes makes it a perfect choice for companies looking to motivate and reward their teams.
Our activities for incentive trips on Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta
An incentive trip for employees on Lake Maggiore will surprise your team with a wide variety of activities – from the adrenaline of bobsleigh on Mottarone, to the charm of visiting the Borromean Islands, to the unique thrill of sailing on its calm waters.
Lake Orta, smaller and quieter than its neighbor, is the perfect location for team-building activities on the water. Options include canoeing, SUP, pedal boating, cycling, and trekking – many of which can be combined into a full day dedicated to teamwork, collaboration, and fun challenges.
Discover the timeless charm of Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore is the largest of the pre-Alpine lakes, of glacial origin, with its shores spanning Lombardy, Piedmont, and Switzerland. Its surrounding hills protect it from the cold northern winds, while the Ticino River, one of its main tributaries, historically connected the Po Valley to Central Europe.
Among its treasures are 11 islands – 8 in Piedmont and 1 in Lombardy. Between Stresa and Verbania lies the beautiful Borromean archipelago, including Isola Madre, Isola Bella, and Isola dei Pescatori.
The three Cannero Castles, with the remains of the Vitaliana fortress built by Count Ludovico Borromeo, are another must-see, along with La Malghera, Isolino Partegora, and the enchanting Isolino di San Giovanni near Verbania, once home to Arturo Toscanini in the 17th-century Borromeo Palace.
Splendid villas, imposing castles, and historic fortresses stand around the lake and its islands, enriching the area with culture and history. Highlights include the Visconti Castle of Locarno, the Rocca of Arona, and the Borromean Fortress of Angera, which now houses a Doll Museum.
Visitors can also admire the Borromeo Palaces on Isola Madre and Isola Bella, the 18th-century Villa Ponti in Arona, and Villa Treves in Belgirate, which once hosted Gabriele D’Annunzio and Giovanni Verga.
In Stresa, Villa Ducale and Villa Pallavicino with its zoological park are a must, while Verbania is home to Villa Giulia, Villa Taranto, and the nearby Villa San Remigio, each offering unique charm and spectacular gardens. Perfect for combining holidays on Lake Maggiore with unforgettable corporate experiences.
